From the brilliant creative mind of TAYLR comes a project exciting and romantic, inspiring and nostalgic, music impossible not to feel.
When TAYLR put together KODAE they knew something special was taking place. Working separate but together, the band members all brought their ideas and parts to Trey Millz from Unbound by Sound who brilliantly saw how each puzzle piece was to come together. Trey brought these songs to life and helped us expand into new spaces we’d not explored. So much of the record became informed by the magic that took place within the studio, most of the lyrics weren’t even finished until TAYLR started laying down scratch tracks, allowing for the melodies that everyone had been crafting to push and pull each sentiment. We feel so lucky to have had the space to stretch our musical muscles and tangle ourselves up with the sky above. This record holds a special place for all of us and we are beyond excited for it to be heard and danced to.
TAYLR, an emerging artist from Canada, brings together the heartfelt storytelling of folk, the raw emotion of R&B, and the smooth jazz sensibility to create music that resonates deeply. Known for their poignant lyrics and soulful delivery, they craft songs that speak to the soul, reflecting their personal experiences with love, loss, and the search for identity. Their voice has a captivating vulnerability, one that invites listeners into their world of reflection, growth, and empowerment.
Over the years, TAYLR has developed a unique sound that blends traditional genres with modern sensibilities, drawing influences from artists like Adrienne Lenker, Cleo Sol and Norah Jones. Their upcoming projects explore their journey as a queer artist, as well as their deep connection to nature, the human experience, and the artistic process itself. As they prepare to relocate to Montreal, TAYLR is excited to immerse themself in the vibrant local music community and continue sharing stories through song.
